In the early days of the First Age, Tronor greeted almost all newcomers to Port Town. He was called the "Herald of Kraylus" and claimed to be a servant of the god Kraylus. Tronor almost always said his actions were at the behest of this god and often demonstrated astonishing magic powers to prove it.

There is some question as to whether Tronor was really human, but he appeared to be so.
