The Port Town Militia claims an ancient history as defenders of Port Town on Punkett Island. This claim is disputed by Grivenek and other Gnomes who formerly lived in Port Town. Grivenek and his supporters say that there was no militia in Port Town in earlier times and even if there was, the later Port Town Militia is a new organization founded by Noreg son of Thoreg to solidify control of the city in the hands of the Dwarves and their leader, Thoreg and his family.

The Port Town Militia became the core of the Army of Stondar in the first year of the reign of Prince Noreg. As the Port Town Militia they defended Port Town from Ogre Raiders twice. As the Army of Stondar, they fought in the Battle of Ogre Island in the Ogre Wars.
