The "Kicking of the Gnomes" was an incident in the latter days of the First Age in which Prince Noreg of Stondar ordered all gnomes removed from Stondar City and sent the Army of Stondar to forcibly remove them.

There was some resistance by an organization known as the Gnome Defenders, but it was ineffective.

Some gnomes went to Azmar. At least one went to Worfin Island. Most of them went to the tiny gnome village of Orveka which doubled in size as a result of this.
