Elves are one of the playable races.

In the days of the Elder Gods, there had been dwarves, gnomes, humans and elves. Like the humans, the elves appeared to have been completely wiped out by the cataclysm that ended the time of the Elder Gods. When the humans were recreated, the new gods brought souls into the world to inhabit the bodies of the humans and also some new gnomes.

Kraylus had intended that elves would not be brought into the world yet, but through a strange quirk of magic and some luck, an elf named Allort came into the world anyway. After he had arrived, Kraylus decided to recreate the entire species of elves.

In the early days of the First Age, Allort became the greatest wizard and the high priest of Krellin's Flock. Another elf named Thaero became the first ranger. Ever since, elves have been known as the best wizards and the best rangers.
