Players with appropriate skills, tools and materials will at some point be able to mint their own coins. Currently, the only mint is in Stondar City and is run by the blacksmith, Thoreg.
There are three kinds of coins valued based on the type of metal they contain. These are gold, silver and copper. These are sometimes referred to as gold pieces, silver pieces and copper pieces and abbreviated as gp, sp and cp.
Although fixed exchange rates between different metals have never been sustainable in the real world due to fluctuating metal values, magically it has worked so far in Stondar City. The fixed exchange rates are these:
1 gold coin = 10 silver coins
1 silver coin = 100 copper coin
In addition to coins, there are two other mediums of exchange. One of these is store credits issued by Thoreg. Since Thoreg runs the most popular store in the known world and sells food, beer, weapons and magic spells and will buy virtually anything and he is also the one who mints coins, store credits at his store were treated as money until Prince Noreg banned non-dwarves from Stondar City.
While Thoreg's store credits are still used as money among dwarves of Stondar, others prefer coins or even raw fish as a means of payment.
